I swear Fifeflyers only ever comes on here to be negative, be it results or other news.

I certainly will not be shy of being critical of the management when it is required but with regards to an increase in prices I can understand it. Inlation is very low, but inflation has nothing to do with the three highest Caps expenses. Player wages, play accommodation and rink expenses increase outwith inflation and if we want to have a team that challenges we need to pay for it.

Three of the last four weekends have been four point weekends, when was the last time the team had that? Brilliant weekend again, I understand it's not aesthetically pleasing but they are winning and that's brill.

What a massive weekend, whatever has been said or done has really turned things around, funny though, I actually think the ugly away win against Dundee is the bigger result, the Caps have tended to fold a bit this season when down so that was an excellent come-back. Four points in the bag though. Damn pleasing stuff and RH must be much happier doing interviews now.

I really do think that if the recruitment was done primarily by RH and I am not sure that it was then he ought to go if he can't turn this around, but reading between the lines on a few articles he seems exasperated that he has a team that don't play the way he want's to and that he can't change anything either. In that sense it makes him a bit one dimensional. The other thing is that I was very wary of the "We need a tough guy" in the team rhetoric last season, a tough guy who can chip in and score points and uses his brains is a valuable commodity and thankfully one of the ones we have is doing just as required but I really hope this was not first and foremost in the minds when the recruitment was done this year.

The key to all of this is who did the recruiting in the summer? Whoever sourced the majority of the players needs to take a large part of the blame. I have no doubt who takes the blame for the failure to act right now, never rated Doug in the coaching department when he was here but I know that he would be begging borrowing or stealing funds to pay for players and then over-selling the caps to get the players here.

QUOTE (Simon @ Oct 29 2014, 16:07 ) *
Just watched the video for the first time, and that is a sickening hit! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

High, to the head, potentially off his feet, and on a player who didn't have the puck. Brutal. The refs made the right call on the night, but how on earth the DoPS can decide there's nothing more to add, is beyond comprehension... Does anyone believe that if Emmerson or Grimaldi had inflicted a hit like that, they would be free to play next week? Or even next month, for that matter. No, me neither.

Best wishes Sean, hope you are fully fit and back playing soon.

Apparently Scott got correspondence from the league stating Beattie needed to take some of the blame for that hit.

That video is brutal, he leaves his feet, its to the head and he is not even close to touching the puck.

3rd highest in pim this season too in the league. All of this let's get tough has a massive downside, for a team like the caps I think it has too much of a downside.

The management are like the Titanic's rudder trying to turn to avoid the inevitable iceberg. It always takes a meltdown like this from fans before anything is said or done about it, I can't see many other teams hanging in there with players that do not fit in, in one way it is endearing that Scott gives guys a chance to sort themselves out, in other ways it is infuriating and I do think it is pretty much about money. Cut a player then you have to pay a new players airfare and kit and ITC card etc.

You were suggesting people would over-react, what is the basis for your assertion? Have people over reacted here recently? Has the team been playing well recently? It's not like the team have won half of their games, but played really well in the games they have lost and now after one defeat we are all jumping on their backs.

Cue over reactions in 3...2...1...

At the end of the day, with 11 skaters your going to seriously struggle. Strange there is never any news updates letting us know and keep us informed. Bit of communication wouldn't go a miss. Would like to hear who we were missing.

Going by the shots on goal, Tomas should be picking up yet another MOTM award, quite rightly so, he is the only boy out there consistently on top form.

How about you point to over reactions here over a few weeks? You can't? No I did not think so.

Wow, not sure I have ever seen a coach admit the players stopped playing for him. Maybe there will be a "context" issue but his interviews are comming off as a bit desperate.

The problem is the Caps are like an aircraft carrier when changing course, if they actually try to change. I'm not going to suggest where the problems lie, although 8.9% pp is terrible and the coach has to take a large part of the blame. Not reacting in panic is fine but the management here sometimes do absolutely nothing about it. I honestly wonder at times if part of the attraction to coming here is there is more a likelihood of you not losing your job for sub-standard performances. Sure the caps have gassed people in the past but compared to other teams it's no where near as much. I don't think guys should be booted willy nilly but when there are situations where they are trying to fit square pegs in round holes then damn straight something ought to be done about it.

So according to Kelman the fine is for not providing the game tape and because the DPS could not see the tape they just automatically give the harshest ban they can. No word on what would happen if the hit is not caught on camera. Obviously with no actual rules being placed in the public domain people will not be happy.

Either Belfast have a flagrant disregard for their player safety or they have misled the league, either way the Caps are getting bent over because they are a small club.

So the reasons are:

QUOTE
There was a penalty on the play, therefore the play has been deemed illegal
Belfast #62 Kevin Phillips took no further part in the game
Belfast #62 Kevin Phillips has been diagnosed with concussion

I heard at the rink tonight that the Department of Player Safety is Darnell and Hicks.

Two of the crapiest officials in charge of big decisions, sure I can see that.

ffs their reasoning was the guy was injured and suffered a concussion, just a joke.

Nevermind, it is Moray, he was a great ref but I always felt he some-times enjoyed screwing us over. Remember hutchins having a stick broken over the back of his head when he had his back to the player and he was given a 2 min penalty? Not entirely convinced Moray did not call him for diving.

I thought he was either in charge of refs now or in fact in charge of the league discipline, I might be wrong.
