Well seems the season has gotten off to the same old, same old for the Leafs.
New management team, same old results.
I was really excited about Mike Babcock coming to Toronto, it's not been the best of starts, but it's a loooooooonnggg old season.

Flemington could potentially get more because there was an injury on the play.

Also if officials had intervened and then Flemington went further, that's seen in a dim light as well.

Have to say the new site looks great.
Vast improvement on the old one, which was beginning to look tired.

Maybe we can jazz up the forum now too? Get the new club logo onto it?

The worst Panthers team I have ever seen.
Thank god cause a team of their usual quality would have murdered us.

Shocking display from a Capitals player.
Can't blame the club for gassing him, he's lucky it wasn't sooner.

QUOTE (Easty @ Oct 30 2014, 21:09 ) *
My interview this week in Saturday's match night programme against Sheffield Steelers is a guy who played with both teams in his career and to this day probably one of the best players to ever pull on the Caps sweater IMO.....the legend that is.....JASON LAFRENIERE.

'Hawk' tells us about his time in Sheffield and Edinburgh as well as a couple of stories about his time in the NHL....I know Steelers Dave Simms still speaks very highly of him from his time with the Steel men.

Also 'Captain's Corner' is back this week with our very own Jade Portwood

Make sure you buy a copy at the game on Saturday night....

The greatest Cap ever.
We could do with him on the ice now!

100% agree Taz, but who do you think out there is listening?
Nobody cares about the fans at the Caps.

Even the lack of reponse shows you the mallaise amongst Caps fans.

It's worse than Hibs!!

Pretty poor game, but at least they got a point. Didn't think Hiadlovsky had his best game ever and there seemed to be very little quality on display. Portwood is a warrior though, but he lacks the panache to go by players like Lienweber can. Hull will be disappointed not to have won this in regulation.
The Caps are not completely out of it with regard to the playoffs, but the league table doesn't lie and it's going to take a big turn around to grab that 8th spot. Dundee and Hull showing what can be done with a small budget and similar fan base to our own, so the 'small team, low budget' excuse is being blown out the water.

It doesn't sell out, but it gets close to it. 6000 plus usually. The Ibis is reasonably priced hotel that nearby both the rink, city centre and railway station. But there are plenty hotels about.

A superb team performance tonight. Very pleased. The team have started to roll nicely in the last couple of weeks.
Curtis was his usual brilliant self, but have to say a big well done to Jan Safar tonight. Good, solid performance and bagged another OT game winner. Superb.

Keep it up Caps!!

PS. We should move to the Erdhart Conference. Easy.

That ranks right up there with one of worst defeats in Capitals history and we've had our fair share of embarrassments.
The defence is god dam awful and although it's easy to blame the crap imports we've signed the Scottish guys have got to take their share of the blame too. Danny Mac was badly a fault for at least 3 of the goals and Neil Hay gave about as much effort as Homer Simpson!

I left with 10 mins still to go, only the 2nd time ever I've left a Caps match early. The whole team is very poor, but the defence just takes the biscuit. Not one of our D-men would get a game for any other Elite League Club.
Time to gas them now and move on.

They played several u20's games on the Sunday before the playoff final in Nottingham. But in all they years they did it, Scotland never won and took some right tonkings.
Wouldn't want to bring it back cause the Scottish talent is sadly lacking right now.

Chicago Blackhawks are Stanley Cup Champions!
Scoring to goals in te final 76 seconds of game 6 to come from behind to win 3-2 on the night and take the series 4-2.
The Boston Bruins blew both a 2-1 lead in game 6 and in the series to give Chicago their 2nd Cup in 4 years, since going 50 years without winning it.

A third of the points gained will be deducted apparently and an 18 point deduction is what is being discussed. Personally, I can't see how Hearts can survive in the SPL when 79% of the club is owned by an insolvent business.

Looking unlikely that we'll be deducted points from this seasons total, as Vlad's appeal, even if unsuccessful will delay the process long enough to prevent administration this year.
So we'll be deducted 1/3 of this season's tall (44pts) next year. Meaning we'd start the season on -15.

NOW Hearts are up S**T Creek without a paddle, UBIG apparently placed into administration.
Which mean Hearts are now in the same situation as Coventry City found themselves in. The club themselves, while fragile aren't in administration but they're parent company are. The Engish FA then ruled that this was still a breach of it's rules and deducted the Sky Blues 10 points. If the same were to happen to Hearts, we'd stay in the SPL. However, if Hearts themselves were to be plunged into administration, before the end of the season, it's Divsion One football at the best next season.

QUOTE (Dr Naysay @ May 6 2013, 23:15 ) *
They are not customers they are also not creditors, they are an asset owned by the bank and therefore a source of income for the creditors owed money. Hearts are in big sxxt, considering the sxxt the pie man got for wanting to move away from Tynecastle the biggest asset Ukio Bankas creditors have to raise some funds is Tynecastle. What happens next will be huge, we could be losing to the likes of Stirling Albion if someone does not treat us right.

Hearts aren't an asset of Ukio Bankas because we're not owned by Ukio Bankas!! HMFC are owned by UBIG. The same company that owns Ukio Bankas. So we're not a bank owned asset, we're an in debited client/customer whatever you want to call it. We're a majority owned subsistory of UBIG; the parent company of both the bank and HMFC. Which currently has its assets frozen as part of the embargo against Vlad. Which will provide some short term protection for Hearts as Hearts cant be touched without the Lithuanian Central Banks' approval. I never said Hearts were a creditor, I said our debt to UB could be called in on behalf of the creditors of UB. Hearts are an in debited customer, who in turns owns large assests; against which debts are secured. Those assets are Tynecastle, Hearts share of Riccarton, the players etc. The problem is that even if Hearts sold all these, the level of debt is possibly greater than their value and also the club is running at a small loss, so it's not a viable concern.

Also the time it takes to dredge through all of the finances of UB, as the administrator will have to do, should spare Hearts administration this season. (Ie before the last week in May.) Also if the American bid or the Scandinavian bid looks to become solid interest UB's administrators would have a duty to examine that bid as part of way for Hearts to service their debt pf ?15M to UB. Another factor that could spare Hearts immediate administration. So as I said the near future is business as usual, it's the medium and long term where the uncertainty lies, once these issues have been resolved.

PK Subban nominated as a Norris Trophy Finalist, the award given to the NHL's best defence man.
Playing at Murrayfield is surely still the highlight of his career though!

QUOTE (MC5 @ May 5 2013, 18:47 ) *
You're deluded.

No I am not. Think about it.
Hearts are one of THOUSANDS of customers of a bank that has gone into bankruptcy.
The administrators are going to have to sift through all their accounts and all their balances, both positive and negative. Decide which customers are due to pursued for their debts, which have to be paid out for their credit balances and which it isn't cost effective to pursue, which are transferring to the new bank and which ones just want their money out!!
By the time UB's administrator does all that, the season will be done.
So the danger will be beginning next season with Hearts in administration kicking off from -18 points, the immediate future is business as usual.... But trying to make the club an attractive prospect for a potential buyer. Near sell out crowds are a good way to do that!

Hearts on the brink?

Not looking good for Hearts, it'll be an interesting next few days for the club.

There little immediate threat to Hearts.
It's in the more medium to long term the threat lies.
Hopefully by then, one of the interested parties will have succeeded in buying the club.
