New coach, new players, new team-mates, new country, new city, new language (to some) - you don't just gel immediately and bring your A game (Unless you are Jan Krajicek)

Over the years quite a few people have offered to help the club out but have either ran away, backed out of or been chased out the door!
I think the club has a very specific way of operating and isn't the most progressive or forward thinking of organisations. Change is hard to accept.

If things were sensible in UK hockey - The Flames would have been in the Elite League years ago, definitely included before us! During the BNL days (haven't followed them much since) they were a very well organised club and had a decent fan base. They always had strong players, competitive teams and helped lead the way on exploiting the Czech/Slovak market.
They would have been a credit to the EIHL but UK hockey just isn't sensible.

True - saying that though, it looks like some cash has been spent this season so I might part with mines too.

That's one way of describing an "off brown" colour.

They should get out the gold Hammerite and get the metal work painted :-)

It's nonsense like that, grading the seats that put me off going back to watch the Caps. The venue has character but its baws.
If it was a fancy arena with different types of seats and spacing then yeah I can see the point but at Murrayfield, ummm nah!
A seat is a seat in that place and should be the same price unless you are directly behind a pilar where restricted viewing costs should come into it.

I think the fact he had officially retired and now he's back, might be causing some concern with the Flyers fans.

Another one that doesn't appear to score much!

Obviously he's been a good player through his career, but 35 now and not scored much in the last five years.
While at first, it seems great Caps attracting 3 top players this summer, we'll have to wait and see what they've actually still got left.

I am pleased it looks like we ARE having a go this time, I'm just wondering where our goals are coming from?

At 35 playing 40-50 second shifts ( always extended at the Caps) he should be fine. He has been a professional athlete more or less all his adult life. He should be able to cope with the EIHL with no problems.
EIHL will also provide him with significantly more scoring oportunities than when he has probably experienced before. You didn't get a spot on that Magnitogorsk roster if you didn't have something about you.

No concerns at all with this signing.

He played double the NHL games of Greg Kuznik and the Flyers fans obsessed over him.
I'm sure Staal will have plenty to offer the Caps!

Nah, fans should be delighted with this signing. He will be expected to be leader on the ice.
Hope he's been told about Murrayfield though and pre warned!

I'm not the best at sarcasm, is this it?

Genuinely, he is an outstanding signing and coup but at 34 would he be top line?? I know the answer will most likely be "absolutely" but I suppose this totally depends on how he adapts and who else we bring in I suppose.

Absolutely

With that points production I don't expect him to be a top line player.
Having a more defensive minded forward, who isn't affraid of skating in his own zone ( guesing that is the case rather than just a lack of talent) won't be a bad thing for the Caps.

Happens ALL the time in the EIHL. Sometimes revealed days in advance too. Nothing new here and no need to apologise either.

Yep...happy with that. Prefer this to Hutchins definitely.

Also, glad to read that he says "There is good European players AND North American players out there", really don't want to go down the route of a team of czech/slovak players so if we can get a good mix that will play together then I'm happy.

Interesting also to see that Dobs approached SN.

I think the club invited applications to be made.

Rumours on other forums suggesting Caps have been given an ultimatum to improve or get out.
If there is any truth in that who knows? But the story existing after the Elite fans forum stuff is not what fans that have yet to buy season tickets want to hear!

This forum is obviously ignored. Fans with questions why not try twitter directly?!
